LEARN: TEACHING AMERICAN HISTORY  


The State Museum of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania State Archives are partners with the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit on professional development programs for teachers funded through Teaching American History grants from the U.S. Department of Education.

We are currently recruiting for American History in Pennsylvania: Great Documents, Great Events, Great Places. We’re looking for:

  • Teachers who teach at least one section of American history for any grade from grade 7-12 OR teach language arts for grades 7-12 who are willing to partner with a teacher of American history AND

  • Teach with the area served by Tuscarora, Lincoln, Lancaster-Lebanon, Capital Area, BLaST, Luzerne, Schuylkill or Central Susquehanna intermediate units.

History teacher participants will participate in a week-long institute in Harrisburg at The State Museum and State Archives and take exciting field trips to museums. All participants attend a March symposium.
