Visitors
can witness the Dino Lab technician at work or simply sit
and watch the story of the dinosaur, Coelophysis’
discovery.
|
Our Dino Lab, featuring the small, meat-eating dinosaur, Coelophysis
(pronounced see-lo-FISE-iss), allows students to discover what digging
up a dinosaur fossil is really like!
The
Dino Lab is an interactive exhibit that enables visitors to see
what goes on behind the scenes in a fossil preparation laboratory.
After fossils (including dinosaur skeletons) are found in the field,
many steps, not normally seen by the public, are taken to prepare
the fossils for exhibition. Visitors can witness this process of
uncovering the fossilized bones from the rock that surrounds them.
