About the Curator - Curt
Miner, Senior Curator

At The Museum
Curt Miner is the Senior Curator of Popular Culture and Political History. Since joining the staff of the State Museum in 1994, Dr. Miner has curated several temporary exhibits and has been involved in planning several long-term history exhibit programs. He is also responsible for the collection and interpretation of objects pertaining to both popular culture and political history in Pennsylvania.
Current Projects
In 2002, Dr. Miner curated Levittown, Pa. – Building the Suburban Dream, the State Museum’s award-winning exhibit marking the 50th anniversary of Levittown, Pennsylvania. A web-based version of the exhibit, produced in cooperation with Franklin and Marshall College, is currently available in the “on-line” section of this site. In 2008, in honor of the 75th Anniversary of the New Deal, Dr. Miner will be co-curating an exhibit on the Commonwealth’s Depression-era Post Office murals. He is also helping develop a large-scale interactive map of Pennsylvania. This new permanent exhibit, expected to open in 2009, is the first of several scheduled upgrades to the museum’s first-floor galleries.
