METERED PARKING
On street parking is available on the streets immediately surrounding The State Museum. The State Museum is located at 300 North Street, on the corner of Third and North Streets.
RATES
In the Central Business District which includes the area bordered by Front Street, Market Street, Fisher Plaza and Forster Street (generally the area around the Capital Complex and the downtown shopping area) are $.25 for 10 minutes or $1.50 per hour. Rates for the surrounding area are 20 minutes for $.25 or $1.00 per hour. Meters are color coded to show parking time limitations: orange/black stripe (30 minutes), red (2 hour limit), yellow (4 hour limit), and green (all day parking). There is a handicap parking meters located in front of The State Museum which has a two hour time limit with a one hour grace period after the two hours.
PARKING GARAGES
The following garages, operated by the Harrisburg Parking Authority, are located with a few blocks of The State Museum:
7TH STREET GARAGE & SURFACE LOT (7TH & FORSTER STREETS) - Facility is open for general public parking 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday thru Friday with a cashier on duty 7:15 AM to 7:00 PM. Facility is closed all State holidays. Clearance height 7'.
SOUTH STREET GARAGE (220 SOUTH STREET) - Facility is open for general public parking 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday with a cashier on duty 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Facility is closed all major holidays. Clearance height 6’9”.
LOCUST STREET GARAGE (214 LOCUST STREET) - Facility is open for general public parking 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday thru Friday with a cashier on duty from 7:15 AM to 7:00 PM. Clearance height 6'6".
WALNUT STREET GARAGE (215 WALNUT STREET) - Facility is open for monthly parkers, the general public and Hilton Hotel parking, 24 hours daily, 7 days a week including holidays. Clearance height 6'6". Motorcycles are not permitted in the Walnut Street Garage.
